Overfillin g the brak e flu id reservoir can resu lt in
spillin g brak e flu id on hot engin e parts and the
brak e flu id catch ing fire.
Do not allow petroleu m-base flu id to contam inate
the brak e flu id. Seal damage may resu lt.
Use of a brak e flu id that has a low er initial boilin g
poin t than the recom mended prod uct or a brak e
flu id that is unidentified as to FMVSS specifica-
tion may resu lt in sudden brak e failu re durin g
hard prolon ged brak ing. You could have an
accid ent.
Clutch Hydraulic System — Manual Transmission
(If Equipped)
The clutch hyd rau lic system is fed by a segregated
volu me of fluid within the brake system master cylind er
reservoir. In the event of leakage or wear, use only
manu factu rer’s recom mend ed brake fluid. Refer to “Flu-
ids, Lubricants, and Genu ine Parts” in this section for the
correct fluid typ e.
Use only brake fluid that has been in a tightly closed
container to avoid contam ination from foreign matter or
moistu re.
