As the airbags deflate, you may see som e smoke-like
particles. The particles are a norm al by-p rod uct of the
process that generates the nontoxic gas used for airbag
inflation. These airborne particles may irritate the skin,
eyes, nose, or throat. If you have skin or eye irritation,
rinse the area with cool water. For nose or throat
irritation, move to fresh air. If the irritation continu es,
see you r doctor. If these particles settle on you r
clothing, follow the garm ent manu factu rer’s instru c-
tions for cleaning.
WARN ING!
Deployed airb ags and seat belt preten sion ers cannot
protect you in anoth er collision . Have the airb ags,
seat belt preten sion er, and seat belt retractor assem -
bly rep laced by an authorized dealer as soon as
possib le. Also, have the Occupant Classification Sys-
tem serviced as well.

Enhanced Accid ent Resp onse System
It is not advisable to drive you r vehicle after the
airbags have deployed . If you are involved in another
collision, the airbags will not be in place to protect you .
In the event of an impact that causes airbag deploym ent,
with the vehicle stop ped, and the vehicle communication
netw ork intact, and the power intact, the Enhanced
Accident Response System perform s the follow ing func-
tions:

Cuts off fuel to the engine.
Flashes hazard lights.
