The follow ing tip s will help you to get the most
satisfaction from you r climate control system .

In hu mid weather, select V F-DEF (front
defrost) before driving. This will help to
prevent wind shield fogging. After a few
minu tes of operation, switch to any desired
selection.

Do not put objects und er the front seats that
interfere with the flow of air to the back seat
area.
❑
Remove any snow , ice, or leaves from the air
intake area of you r climate control system
which could block the air intake. The intake
area is located at the bottom of the
wind shield , und er the hood at the passenger
sid e rear corner.

If the air cond itioner perform s well in MAX
A/ C bu t not in A/ C, this may ind icate that
the MicronAir ă filter (if equ ipped) need s to
be rep laced .
Micron Airă Air Filter (If equipped)
Your vehicle may have an air filter that rem oves
pollen and road dust from ou tsid e air before it
is directed to the interior of the vehicle. For
maintenance of this filter, see Servicing Your
Taurus .
Rear Win dow Defroster and Heated Sid e
View Mirrors
The defroster for the rear wind ow clears frost,
fog, or thin ice from both the insid e and outsid e
of the rear wind ow and activates the heated sid e
view mirrors.
The bu tton for the rear defroster and heated sid e
view mirrors is on the instru ment panel.
