RWARN ING
Do not park , idle, or drive you r veh icle in
dry grass or oth er dry grou nd cover. The
emission system heats up the engin e
compartm ent and exhaust system , which
can start a fire.
Watch for fluid leaks, strange od ors, smoke, loss
of oil pressu re, the charging system warning
light, the service engine soon light, or the
tem peratu re warning light. These som etim es
ind icate that the emissions system is not
working prop erly.
Do not make any unau thorized changes to you r
vehicle or engine. Changes that cau se more
unbu rned fuel to reach the exhau st system can
increase the tem peratu re of the engine or
exhau st system .
By law , anyone who manu factu res, rep airs,
services, sells, leases, trad es vehicles, or
supervises a fleet of vehicles is not perm itted to
intentionally rem ove an emission control device
or prevent it from working. In som e of the
United States and in Canad a, vehicle ow ners
may be liable if their emission control device is
rem oved or is prevented from working.
Never use a metal exhau st collector when you
service you r vehicle. If the metal collector
contacts any of you r vehicle’s plastic trim or
bu mper parts they could melt or deform .
