Turning the driver’s or front passenger’s door
key to the LOCK position to centrally lock all
doors (with the doors open or closed ).
If a door or liftgate (wagon) is open, the
anti-theft system is prearm ed and waiting for all
doors to close. The THEFT inid cator in the
instru ment panel will light continu ously while
the system is prearm ed.
Once all doors and liftgate (wagon) are closed , if
any were open, the system will begin a 30
second countd ow n to becom e arm ed. The 30
second countd ow n allow s peop le who may still
be in the vehicle tim e to exit withou t triggering
the alarm . The THEFT ind icator will glow
stead ily until the system is arm ed. When the
system is arm ed, the THEFT ind icator will begin
to flash with short flashes every 2 second s until
the system is triggered or disarm ed.
Remember, all doors and liftgate (wagon) must
be fully closed for the anti-theft system to arm .
If a door or liftgate (wagon) has been left open
or ajar, and you press the rem ote entry
transm itter tw ice to confirm the doors are
locked , tw o short horn chirp s will warn you that
the anti-theft system is not arm ing.
The anti-theft system is designed to work with
the factory installed rem ote entry system . It may
not work with other rem ote entry system s.
When you get a single horn chirp by pressing
the LOCK bu tton tw ice within 5 second s on
you r rem ote entry transm itter, you can be
assu red that all doors are locked and the
anti-theft system is arm ing.
