To fasten the belt, pull the com bination lap and
shou lder belt from the retractor so that the
shou lder belt portion of the safety belt crosses
you r shou lder and chest. Be sure the belt is not
tw isted . If the belt is tw isted rem ove the tw ist.
Insert the belt tongu e into the prop er bu ckle for
you r seating position until you hear a snap and
feel it latch. Make sure the tongu e is secu rely
fastened to the bu ckle by pulling on the tongu e.
RWARN ING
The lap belts should fit snugly and as low
as possib le arou nd the hips, not arou nd
the waist.

All fron t and rear seat outboard
occupants (including pregn ant women)
should wear lap and shoulder belts, for
optim um protection in a collision .
RWARN ING
Failu re to follow these precau tion s could
increase the risk and/or severity of injury
in a collision . 1) Use the shoulder belt on
the outsid e shoulder only. Never wear the
shoulder belt under the arm . 2) Never
swing it arou nd you r neck over the insid e
shoulder. 3) Never use a sin gle belt for
more than one person .
Du e to fold ing rear seats, som etim es the bu ckles
and tongu es tow ard the center of the vehicle
may be hid den by the rear edge of the seat
cushion. Pu ll them out so they will be accessible.
