RWARN ING
Carefu lly follow all of the manufactu rer’s
instru ction s included with the safety seat
you put in you r veh icle. If you do not
install and use the safety seat prop erly,
the child may be injured in a sudden stop
or collision .
Attach ing Safety Seats With Teth er Strap s
Some manu factu rers make safety seats that
inclu de a tether strap that goes over the back of
the vehicle seat and attaches to an anchoring
point. Other manu factu rers offer the tether strap
as an accessory. Contact the manu factu rer of
you r child safety seat for inform ation abou t
ord ering a tether strap .
Front Sea ts
To install a tether from a child safety seat in the
front seat:
1.
Buckle the lap / shou lder belt (in the seat
directly behind the front passenger seat in
which the child safety seat will be installed ).
2.
Pu ll all the stored belt ou t of the rear seat
retractor to sw itch the retractor to au tom atic
locking mod e.

Let the retractor wind up the slack from the
lap / shou lder belt.
Install the child safety seat in the front seat.
Refer to the previou s section on Installing
Safety Seats. Hook the tether strap hook
arou nd the webbing near the center of the
shou lder portion of the locked lap / shou lder
belt.
5.
Tighten the tether strap .
