NOTE: If you r speed increases above you r set
speed while drivin g in j (Overd rive)
on a downhill grad e, you may want to
shift to D (Drive) to red uce veh icle
speed (or, turn j [Overd rive] off by
depressin g the O/D OFF switch on the
gearsh ift lever). The cruise control
cannot red uce the veh icle speed if it
goes above you r set speed on a
downhill grad e. For the best fuel
econ omy durin g norm al drivin g
condition s, leave the gearsh ift in j
(Overd rive), or resu me as soon as
practical.
RWARN ING
Do not use the speed control in heavy
traffic or on road s that are winding,
slip pery, or unpaved .
Acceleratin g With the Cru ise Con trol
Operatin g
You can use the accelerator pedal to speed up
mom entarily. When you take you r foot off the
accelerator, the vehicle will retu rn to the set
speed .
NOTE: When drivin g in hilly terrain , at high
altitu des, or when pullin g a trailer, you
may want to drive in D (Drive) (or
turn j [Overd rive] off by depressin g
the O/D OFF switch ). This will
improve cruise control perform ance.
