When rep lacin g full size tires, never mix
rad ial, bias-b elted , or bias-typ e tires. Use
only the tire sizes that are listed on the
tire pressu re decal. Make sure that all tires
are the sam e size, speed ratin g, and
load -carryin g capacity. Use only the tire
combination s recom mended on the decal.
If you do not follow these precau tion s,
you r veh icle may not drive prop erly and
safely.
Tires that are larger or smaller than you r
vehicle’s original tires may also affect the
accu racy of you r speed om eter.
Inform ation About Tire Quality Grad es
New vehicles are fitted with tires that have their
Tire Qu ality Grad e (described below ) mold ed
into the tire’s sid ew all. These Tire Qu ality
Grad es are determ ined by stand ard s that the
United States Dep artm ent of Transp ortation has
set.
Tire Qu ality Grad es ap ply to new pneu matic
tires for use on passenger cars. They do not
ap ply to deep tread , winter-typ e snow tires,
space-saver or tem porary use spare tires, tires
with nom inal rim diam eters of 10 to 12 inches or
limited prod uction tires as defined in Title 49
Cod e of Federal Regu lations Part 575.104(c)(2).
