The rear center lap belt must be tigh ten ed
sep arately from the shoulder strap . The
lap belt must fit snugly, and as low as
possib le arou nd the hips. Do not wear
arou nd you r waist. For inform ation about
adjustin g the belt, see “LAP BELTS” in
this chapter.
Detach the shou lder belt before fold ing dow n
the passenger sid e rear seat. To detach the
shou lder belt, slid e the connecting pin to the
wide end of the key-slot and lift the shou lder
belt off the connecting pin. As the shou lder belt
retracts, gu ide the belt so that it does not strike
you or the vehicle.
