Using a column-mount ed gea rshift
If you r gearshift is on the colu mn, you can use
any of the follow ing positions:
The colu mn-mounted gearsh ift
Once you place the gearshift secu rely into
position, grad ually release the brake pedal and
use the accelerator as necessary.
R (Reverse)
With the gearshift in the R (Reverse) position,
the vehicle will move backw ard . You shou ld
alw ays com e to a com plete stop before shifting
into or ou t of R (Reverse).
N (Neutral)
With the gearshift in the N (Neutral) position,
the vehicle can be started and is free to roll.
Hold the brake pedal dow n while in this
position.
