Understan ding the Position s of the Ign ition
The position s of the key in the ign ition
ACCESSORY allow s som e of you r vehicle’s
electrical accessories such as the rad io and the
wind shield wipers to operate while the engine is
not ru nning.
LOCK locks the steering wheel. It also locks the
gearshift for all vehicles with an au tom atic
transaxle.
The au tom atic transaxle gearshift must be in P
(Park) to move the key to the LOCK position.
LOCK is the only position that allow s you to
rem ove the key. The LOCK featu re help s to
protect you r vehicle from theft.
If the key is stu ck in the LOCK position, move
the steering wheel left or right until the key
tu rns freely.
OFF allow s you to shu t off the engine and all
accessories withou t locking the steering wheel or
the au tom atic transaxle gearshift lever.
