Aim ing Head lam ps
Your vehicle is equ ipped with a Vehicle
Head lam p Aim Device (VHAD) on the
head lam p reflector extension and head lam p
hou sing. Each head lam p may be prop erly aim ed
in the horizontal direction (left/ right) and the
vertical direction (up/ dow n) by perform ing the
step s outlined in the follow ing paragrap hs. The
horizontal aim must be ad justed first.
Tools requ ired : One 4mm box wrench or open
end wrench.
Position the vehicle on a surface that is level on
the front-to-rear direction.
If the vehicle cannot be placed on a tru e level
surface, the head lam ps still can be ad justed
using the VHAD if the slop e of the surface is
accu rately know n and does not differ by more
than 1.2˚ from tru e level. A difference of 2.27
inches in height of the surface betw een the front
and rear wheels corresp ond s to 1.2˚ slop e.
If the vertical ad juster is within +/ Ҁ 4
grad uations abou t zero, the vertical head lam p
aim is within specification; and if the horizontal
ad juster is within +/ Ҁ 2 grad uations abou t zero,
the horizontal head lam p aim is within
specification.
