For best resu lts, plug the heater in at least three
hou rs before you start you r vehicle. Using the
heater for longer than three hou rs will not
dam age the engine, so you can plug it in at
night to start you r vehicle the follow ing
morning.
RWARN ING
To preven t electrical shock, do not use
you r heater with ungrou nded electrical
system s or two-pron ged (cheater) adapters.
If the Engin e Cran ks but Does
Not Start or Does Not Start After
a Collision
Fuel Pump Shut-off Switch
If the engine cranks bu t does not start or does
not start even after a small collision, the fuel
pump shu t-off switch may have been activated .
The shu t-off switch is a device intend ed to stop
the fuel pump when you r vehicle has been
involved in a substantial jolt.
Once the shu t-off switch is activated , you must
reset the switch by hand before you can start
you r vehicle. If you have a sed an , the switch is
on the right sid e of the tru nk behind the tru nk
liner. If you have a wagon , it is behind the
service panel on the right sid e of the cargo area.
