By moving the vehicle backw ard and forw ard ,
you may gain enou gh mom entu m to move out
of the spot. Do not rock the vehicle for more
than a few minu tes. This may overheat the
engine, dam age the transaxle, or dam age the
tires. If you are still stu ck after a minu te or tw o
of rocking, call for a tow tru ck.
High water
Do not drive throu gh flood ed areas unless you
are sure that the water is below the bottom of
the wheel rim s.
If you must drive throu gh high water, drive
slow ly. You may have limited traction or wet
brakes, so allow extra stop ping distance becau se
you r vehicle will not stop as qu ickly as usual.
After you drive throu gh the stand ing water,
ap ply you r brakes gently several tim es as you r
vehicle moves slow ly. This help s to dry the
brakes.
Drivin g With a Heavy Load
There are limits to the am ou nt of weight you r
vehicle can carry or tow . The total weight of
you r vehicle, plus the weight of the passengers
and cargo, shou ld never be more than the Gross
Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR). Also, the weight
that you r vehicle carries over the front axle and
rear axle shou ld never be more than the Gross
Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) for the resp ective
axle.
You can find you r vehicle’s GVWR and GAWR
on the Safety Com pliance Certification Label on
the left front door lock facing or on the door
latch post pillar.
