RWARN ING
Exten ded idlin g at high engin e speed s can
prod uce very high tem peratu res in the
engin e and exhaust system , creatin g the
risk of fire or oth er damage.
RWARN ING
Do not park , idle, or drive you r veh icle in
dry grass or oth er dry grou nd cover. The
emission system heats up the engin e
compartm ent and exhaust system , which
can start a fire.
If you consistently start you r vehicle in subzero
tem peratu res, use an engine block heater (if
you r vehicle has this option).
Engin e Block Heater (If equipped)
Engine block heaters are strongly recom mend ed
if you live in a region where tem peratu res reach
-10˚F
(-23˚C) or below . An engine block heater
warm s the engine coolant, which improves
starting, warm s up the engine faster, and allow s
the heater-d efrost system to resp ond qu ickly.
To tu rn the heater on, sim ply plug it into a
grou nd ed 110-volt ou tlet. Ford recom mend s that
you use a 110-volt circu it that is protected by a
grou nd fau lt circu it interru pter.
