be purchased either throu gh you r dealership or
selected retailers. Be sure to purchase only cod ed
keys with a Ford or Mercu ry logo on it to
ensu re prop er functionality. If both supplied
keys are lost or stolen or only one key has been
lost and you want to ensu re that key will not
start the vehicle, the vehicle must be taken to
the dealership for re-initialization. (All keys must
be brou ght to the dealer, if any.)
THEFT indica tor
The ind icator provid es system proveou t and
operating statu s. The system activates the
ind icator when the ignition switch is placed in
the ON or START position. This ind icator help s
to determ ine possible fau lt cond itions and / or
norm al operating proveou t. The system will
illuminate the ind icator for tw o (2) second s then
go ou t to acknow led ge norm al operating
cond itions. If the ind icator does not illuminate at
key ON or flashes, have the system serviced .
Spa re Key Progra mming Procedure
Two electronically cod ed keys were supplied
with you r vehicle, use one of these with the
proced ure below :

Using a cod ed key that you can start you r
engine with, tu rn the ignition from the ON to
the OFF position.
❑
Within 15 second s, insert a new key into the
ignition and tu rn it to ON or START. The
vehicle does not have to be started .
If the key has been cod ed, the theft ind icator
will illuminate for tw o second s. The key can
then be used to start the vehicle.
Repeat until all chosen keys have been cod ed
(max=16).
