To reset the cru ise control to a high er speed ,
use one of the follow ing proced ures:

ACCEL — Press and hold the SET ACCEL
switch. Release the switch when the vehicle
has accelerated to the desired speed .

Dep ress the accelerator pedal. When the
vehicle attains the desired speed , press the
SET ACCEL switch and release it
immediately.
❑
TAP-UP — Press and then qu ickly release the
SET ACCEL switch. Each tim e you “tap ” the
switch, the set speed will increase by 1 mph
(1.6
km / h). Mu ltip le tap s will cau se the set
speed to increase in increm ents of 1 mph
km / h). For exam ple, if the current set
(1.6
speed is 55 mph (88 km / h) 5 tap s of the SET
ACCEL switch will increase the vehicle speed
and SET it at 60 mph (96 km / h).
Can cellin g and Resu ming a Set Speed
If you press the brake pedal, cru ise control is
cancelled . You can retu rn to the set speed by
pressing the RESUME switch, as long as you did
not press the OFF switch. You must be driving
at least 30 mph (50 km / h).
Your vehicle will grad ually retu rn to the
previou sly set speed and then maintain it.
To Turn Off the Cru ise Con trol System
Press the OFF switch.
In ad dition, the cru ise control is tu rned off each
tim e you tu rn the vehicle ignition off.
