Disa rming the syst em
An arm ed or activated system can be disarm ed
if you :
❑
Unlock the doors by pressing the rem ote
entry transm itter UN LOCK bu tton.
❑
Unlock the doors by entering the unlock cod e
on the keyless entry keyp ad .
❑
Unlock any door or the liftgate (wagon) with
a key.
❑Turn ignition to the ON or ACC position.
❑
Pressing the rem ote entry PAN IC bu tton will
disarm the anti-theft system only when the
anti-theft alarm is triggered and sou nd ing.
When unlocking the vehicle with a key, tu rn the
key all the way to the end of its travel or the
system may not disarm .
NOTE: the flash ing ligh ts and honking horn
will shut off autom atically with in 2
minutes 45 secon ds after the system is
triggered . It will trigger again if
anoth er intru sion occurs.
Cod ed Key Anti-Th eft System
If you r vehicle is equ ipped with the cod ed key
anti-theft system , you can only use an
electronically cod ed key to start the vehicle.
Du ring each vehicle start sequ ence, the cod ed
key is “read ” by the anti-theft system . If the
key’s ID cod e matches that in the anti-theft
system , the vehicle is enabled to start. If the
key’s ID cod e does not match the anti-theft
system , or if no cod ed key is detected , then the
vehicle is not able to start. Your vehicle was
equ ipped with tw o electronically cod ed keys.
The cod ed ignition key is larger than norm al
due to the electronics located in the head of the
