Com mon Operatin g Con dition s of Your
CD Player
The follow ing inform ation is designed to help
you recognize typ ical situ ations that could be
mistakenly interp reted as mechanical
malfu nctions of the disc player.

The disc is inserted with the label surface
dow nw ard .
❑The disc is dusty or defective.
❑
The player’s internal tem peratu re is above
140˚F
(60˚C). Allow the player to cool off
before op erating.
❑
Different manu factu rers of compact discs may
prod uce discs with different dimensions or
tolerances, som e of which may not be within
ind ustry stand ard s or in accord ance with the
CD form at. Because of this, a new disc that is
free of dust and scratches could be defective
and may not play on you r Ford Com pact
Disc Player.
If play does not begin after the CD bu tton is
pushed :
❑The rad io is not on.
❑
The disc magazine is not fully seated in
changer.
❑
Moistu re may have cond ensed on the lenses
within the unit. If this occurs, rem ove the
disc and wait ap proxim ately an hou r until the
moistu re evap orates.
