THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE STARTING YOUR VEHICLE

system will arm regard less of whether you are in the
vehicle or not. If you rem ain in the vehicle and open a
door, the alarm will sou nd . If this occurs, disarm the
system .
ILLUMINATED ENTRY SYSTEM — IF EQUIPPED
The courtesy lights will turn on when you use the
Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transm itter or open the
doors. This featu re is only available if you have RKE.
The lights will fade to off after approxim ately 10 second s
or they will immediately fade to off once the ignition
switch is turned ON.
If the Security Alarm System is arm ed and the battery
becom es disconnected , the system will rem ain arm ed
when the battery is reconnected ; the exterior lights will
flash, the horn will sou nd , and the ignition will not start
the vehicle. If this occurs, disarm the system .
NOTE:
•
The front courtesy overhead console, door courtesy
and liftgate lights do not turn on if the dimmer control
is in the interior lights ON position (extrem e top
position).
Tamper Alert
If som ething has triggered the system in you r absence,
the horn will sou nd three times when you unlock the
doors and the security telltale light will flash for 30
second s. Check the vehicle for tam pering.

The Illuminated Entry System will not operate if the
dimmer control is in the extrem e downw ard position.
Secu rity System Manual Overrid e
The system will not arm if you lock the doors using the
manu al door lock plunger.
