STARTING AND OPERATING
selector  lever  in the  PARK position.   To release  the park-
ing  brake,  depress  the  emergency   break  pedal  a  second
time and  let you r foot up  as you feel the  brake disengage.
before  placing  the gear  selector lever  in PARK, otherw  ise
the  load   on  the  transm ission   locking  mechanism    may
make  it  difficult  to  move  the  gear  selector  lever   out  of
PARK.
WARN ING!
Alw ays fully   apply  the  park ing  brak e when   leav-
ing  you r veh icle, or  it may  roll  and  cause  damage
or  injury.   Also  be  certain   to  leave   an  autom atic
tran smission   in  PARK,  a manual   tran smission   in
REVERSE  or first  gear. Failu re  to do  so may  allow
the  veh icle to  roll  and  cause  damage  or  injury.
Be  sure   the   park ing  brak  e  is  fully   disen gaged
before  drivin  g, failu  re to  do  so can  lead  to  brak e
prob lem s  due   to  excessive    heatin g   of  the   rear
brak es.

Be sure  the parking   brake  is firm ly set when  parked  and
the  gear  selector   lever  is  in  the  PARK  position.  When
parking   on  a  hill you   shou ld  apply  the  parking   brake
