Airb ag Ligh t
You will want to have the airbags read y to
inflate for you r protection in a collision. While
the airbag system is designed to be mainte-
nance free, if any of the follow ing occurs, have
an authorized dealer service the system immediately.

Event Data Recorder (EDR)
In the event of an accident, you r vehicle is designed to
record up to approxim ately five second s of specific
vehicle data param eters (see the follow ing list) in an
event data record er prior to the moment of airbag de-
ploym ent, or near deploym ent, and up to a quarter-
second of high-sp eed deceleration data during and / or
after airbag deploym ent. EDR data are ONLY record ed if
an airbag deploys, or nearly deploys, and are otherw ise
unavailable.

The AIRBAG light does not come on during the
approxim ately four to six second s when the ignition
switch is first turned ON.

The light rem ains on after the approxim ately four to
six-second interval.
The light comes on and rem ains on while driving.
NOTE: If the speed ometer, tachom eter, or any engine
related gau ges are not working, the Occupant Restraint
Controller (ORC) may also be disabled . The airbags may
not be read y to inflate for you r protection. Prom ptly
check the fuse block for blow n fuses. Refer to the label
NOTE:
1. A near-d eploym ent event occurs when the airbag
sensor detects severe vehicle deceleration usually ind ica-
tive of a crash, but not severe enou gh to warrant airbag
deploym ent.
