THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE STARTING YOUR VEHICLE
Enhanced Seat Belt Use Reminder System
(BeltAlertா)
NOTE: The follow ing step s must occur within the first
60 second s of the ignition switch being turned to the ON
or START position. Daim lerChrysler does not recom -
mend deactivating BeltAlert.
If the occupied driver’s seat belt has not been buckled
within 60 second s of starting the vehicle and if the vehicle
speed is greater than 5 mph (8 km/ h), BeltAlert will
alert the driver to buckle the seat belt. The driver shou ld
also instru ct all other occupants to buckle their seat belts.
Once the warning is triggered , BeltAlert will continu e to
chim e and flash the Seat Belt Warning Light for 96
second s or until the driver’s seat belt is buckled .

With all doors closed and the ignition switch in any
position excep t ON or START, buckle the driver’s seat
belt.
2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position (engine
does not need to be running), and wait for the Seat Belt
Warning Light to turn off.
BeltAlert will be reactivated if the driver’s seat belt is
unbu ckled for more than 10 second s and the vehicle
speed is greater than 5 mph (8 km/ h).
3. Within 60 second s of turning the ignition switch to the
ON/ RUN position, unbu ckle and then re-bu ckle the
driver’s seat belt at least three times within 60 second s,
end ing with the seat belt buckled .

BeltAlert can be enabled or disabled by you r authorized
dealer or by follow ing these step s:
NOTE: Watch for the Seat Belt Warning Light to turn on
while unbu ckling and off while re-bu ckling the seat belt.
