NOTE: This veh icle is equipped with a tran smission
shift interlock ing system . The brak e pedal must be
depressed to shift out of PARK.
The gear selector lever must be in the NEUTRAL or
PARK position before you can start the engine. Dep ress
the brake pedal before shifting into any driving gear.

If the engine fails to start, the starter will disengage
autom atically in 10 second s. If this occurs, turn the
ignition switch to the OFF position, wait 10 to 15 second s,
then rep eat the norm al starting proced ure (Steps 1–3
above).
To ensu re reliable starting at these tem peratu res, use of
an externally powered electric engine block heater (avail-
able from you r authorized dealer) is recom mend ed.
