STARTING AND OPERATING
For best resu lts, a refu eling pattern that alternates be-
tween E-85 and unlead ed gasoline shou ld be avoid ed.
When you do switch fuels, it is recom mend ed that:

(FFV) E-85 and Gasoline Vehicles
FFV vehicles operated on E85 requ ire specially form u-
lated engine oils. These special requ irem ents are inclu ded
in Mop ar engine oils, and in equ ivalent oils meeting
Daim lerChrysler Specification MS-6395. The manu fac-
turer only recom mend s engine oils that are API Certified
and meet the requ irem ents of Material Stand ard MS-

you do not switch when the fuel gau ge ind icates less
than one-qu arter full
•
•
you do not add less than 5 gal (19 L) when refu eling
you operate the vehicle immediately after refu eling for
a period of at least five minu tes

MS-6395 contains additional requ irem ents, devel-
oped during extensive fleet testing, to provid e additional
protection to Daim lerChrysler Corp oration engines. Use
Mop ar or an equ ivalent oil meeting the specification
MS-6395.
Observing these precau tions will avoid possible hard
starting and / or significant deterioration in driveability
during warm up.
NOTE: When the ambient tem peratu re is above 90°F

(32°C),
follow ing start-u p even if the above recom mend ations
are follow ed.

The characteristics of E-85 fuel make it unsu itable for use
when ambient tem peratu res fall below 0°F (-18°C). In the
range of 0°F (-18°C) to 32°F (0°C), you may experience an
