The follow ing ind icators shou ld be used to ensu re that
you have engaged the transm ission gear selector lever
into the PARK position:
WARN ING!
Uninten ded movem ent of a veh icle could injure
those in and near the veh icle. As with all veh icles,
you should never exit a veh icle while the engin e is
running. Before exitin g a veh icle, you should alw ays
shift the gear selector lever into PARK, rem ove the
key from the ign ition , and apply the park ing brak e.
Once the key is rem oved from the ign ition , the
tran smission gear selector lever is lock ed in the
PARK position , secu rin g the veh icle again st un-
wanted movem ent. Furth erm ore, you should never
leave unatten ded child ren or pets insid e a veh icle.

When shifting the gear selector lever into PARK,
depress the button on the gear selector lever and
firm ly move the lever all the way forw ard until it
stop s.

Look at the shift ind icator wind ow on the console to 5
ensu re gear selector lever is in the PARK position.
When engaged in PARK, you will not be able to move
the gear selector lever rearw ard withou t depressing
the gear selector lever button.
