Spare Tire Hook and pull the wheel spacer from und er
the vehicle.
Assem ble the winch hand le extensions to form the
WARN ING!
Verify that ’both ’ retain er tab s of the wheel spacer
have been prop erly exten ded throu gh the center of
the wheel and spare tire cover assem bly. Failu re to
prop erly engage both retain er tab s could resu lt in
loss of the spare tire & cover assem bly, which will
cause veh icle damage and may cause loss of control
of the veh icle.

Turn the compact spare tire so that the valve stem is
down and place the tire into the spare tire cover assem -
bly. Slide the wheel spacer throu gh the center of the
wheel and spare tire cover assem bly so that the two
retainer tabs snap out and engage the spare tire cover on
the opposite side.
CAUTIO N!
4. Using the winch “T” hand le, rotate the drive nu t to the 6
right until the compact spare tire/ cover assem bly is
draw n into place against the und ersid e of the vehicle.
The compact spare tire cover assem bly must be used
when the compact spare tire is stored . Failu re to use
this cover could drastically red uce the life of the
compact spare tire.
5.
Continu e to rotate the nu t to the right until you hear
the winch mechanism click three times. It cannot be
overtightened . Check und er the vehicle to ensu re the
compact spare tire/ cover assem bly is positioned cor-
rectly against the und ersid e of the vehicle.
