WHAT TO DO IN EMERGENCIES
JUMP-STARTING PROCEDURE
CAUTIO N!
WARN ING!
For  veh icles equipped    with  Stow  ’n  Go  seatin g,  the
Win ch Mechanism   is  design ed  specifically   to stow  a
COMPACT  Spare   Tire ONLY.  Do  not  attem pt  to use
the  Win ch  to  stow  the  Full   Size  ’Flat’  Tire,  or  any
oth er Full  Size  Tire.  Vehicle  damage  may  resu lt.
DO  NOT  attem pt to  push  or tow  the vehicle  to  get it  started . Vehicles
equipped   with  an  automatic   tran smission  cannot  be  started  this  way.
Unburned   fuel  could enter  the  catalytic  converter  and  once  the engine
has  started , ignite  and  damage  the converter   and vehicle.
If the  vehicle  has  a discharged   battery,  booster  cables  may  be  used  to
obtain  a start  from another  vehicle.  This  type of  start can be  dangerou s
if done  improperly,   so follow  this  procedure  carefu lly.
Battery fluid  is a corrosive  acid solu tion ; DO NOT allow battery  fluid  to
contact  eyes, skin  or  clothing.  Don’t  lean  over  battery  when  attach ing
clamps  or allow  the  clamps  to touch  each other.  If acid  splash es in  the
eyes or on the  skin, flush  the  contaminated  area  immediately  with  large
quantities   of water.
A battery  gen erates  hydrogen  gas  which  is flam mable  and  explosive.  Keep
all  flam es  or spark  s away   from  the  ven t holes.   DO  NOT  use  a  booster
battery   or any  oth er booster   sou rce with  an  output   that  exceed s 12 volts.
Durin g  cold  weath er  when  tem peratu  res are  below   freezin g  poin t, elec-
trolyte  in a disch arged  battery   may freeze.  DO NOT  attem pt  jump-startin  g
becau se  the  battery   could   rupture   or  explod e.  The  battery   tem peratu  re
must  be  brou ght  up  above  freezin  g poin t before   attem ptin g jump-start.
Take special  care to avoid  the radiator  coolin g fan whenever   the hood  is
raised . The coolin g fan is electrically  operated  and  can start anytim e the
ignition  switch  is  ON. You  can be  hurt  by  the fan.

Looked up a few items and was impressed with how fast it worked. Bought vehicle used and manual was missing. Thanks to this sight I can figure out all these buttons and switches.
