POWER STEERING — FLUID CHECK
If necessary, add fluid to restore to the prop er ind icated
level. With a clean cloth, wipe any spilled fluid from all
surfaces. Refer to Fluids, Lubricants, and Genu ine Parts
for correct fluid typ e.
Checking the power steering fluid level at a defined
service interval is not requ ired . The fluid shou ld only be
checked if a leak is suspected , abnorm al noises are
apparent, and / or the system is not functioning as antici-
pated . Coord inate insp ection efforts throu gh an autho-
rized Daim lerChrysler Dealership .Љ
FRONT SUSPENSION — BALL JOINTS
The front suspension ball joints are perm anently sealed .
No regu lar maintenance is requ ired for these compo-
nents.

STEERING SHAFT SEAL
Fluid level should be checked on a level surface and
with the engin e off to preven t injury from movin g
parts and to ensure accurate flu id level read ing. Do
not overfill. Use only manufactu rer’s recom mended
power steerin g flu id.
The steering shaft seal, at the point where the shaft passes
throu gh the bulkhead , is lubricated when it is installed . If
the seal becom es noisy when the steering shaft is turned , 7
it shou ld be lubricated with a multipurpose grease.
Mop ar multipurpose lubricant is recom mend ed.
Steerin g Linkage
The tie rod end ball joints are perm anently lubricated and
do not requ ire period ic maintenance.
