Press the STEP button until “Calibrate Com pass” is

displayed in the EVIC.
Com pass Variance is the difference betw een magnetic
North and Geograp hic North. In som e areas of the
country, the difference betw een magnetic and geograp hic
North is great enou gh to cause the compass to give false
read ings. For the most accurate compass perform ance,
the compass variance must be set using the follow ing
proced ure:

Press and release the RESET button to start the cali-
bration. The “CAL” ind icator will be displayed in the
EVIC.
5.
Com plete one or more 360° turns (in an area free from
large metal or metallic objects) until the CAL ind icator
turns off. The compass will now function norm ally.
NOTE: Magnetic materials shou ld be kep t away from
the top of the instru ment panel. This is where the
compass sensor is located .
