in ord er for the TPMS warning lamp to be turned off. The
system will autom atically update and the TPMS warning
lamp will extingu ish once the updated tire pressu res
have been received . The vehicle may need to be driven
for up to 10 minu tes above 15 mph (25 km/ h) to receive
this inform ation.
TPMS Warning Light will turn off only after the tires
have been inflated to the vehicle’s recom mend ed cold tire
pressu re valu e.
CAUTIO N!
The TPM S has been optim ized for the origin al
equipment tires and wheels. TPM S pressu res have
been estab lish ed for the tire size equipped on you r
veh icle. Undesirab le system operation or sen sor
damage may resu lt when usin g rep lacem ent equip-
ment that is not of the sam e size, typ e, and/or style.
Afterm ark et wheels can cause sen sor damage. Do not
use afterm ark et sealan ts or balan ce bead s if you r
veh icle is equipped with a TPM S, as damage to the
sen sors may resu lt.
For exam ple, you r vehicle may have a recom mend ed
cold (parked for more than three hou rs) tire pressu re of

psi (241 kPa). If the ambient tem peratu re is 68°F (20°C)
and the measu red tire pressu re is 30 psi (207 kPa), a
tem peratu re drop to 20°F (-7°C) will decrease the tire
pressu re to approxim ately 26 psi (179 kPa). This tire
pressu re is sufficiently low enou gh to turn on the TPMS
Warning Light. Driving the vehicle may cause the tire
pressu re to rise to approxim ately 30 psi (207 kPa), but the
TPMS Warning Light will still be on. In this situ ation, the
