engine running. If the “ESP/ BAS Warning Lamp” comes
on continu ously with the engine running, a malfunction
has been detected in either the ESP or the BAS system . If
this light rem ains on after several ignition cycles, and the
vehicle has been driven several miles at speed s greater
than 30 mph (48 km/ h), see you r authorized dealer as
soon as possible.

when the brake fluid level in the master cylind er has
drop ped below a specified level.
The light will rem ain on until the cause is corrected .
NOTE: The light may flash momentarily during sharp
cornering maneu vers which change fluid level cond i-
tions. The vehicle shou ld have service perform ed, and
the brake fluid level checked .

Brake Syst em Warning Light
This light monitors variou s brake functions,
inclu ding brake fluid level and parking brake
application. If the brake light turns on, it may
ind icate that the parking brake is applied, that
If brake failu re is ind icated , immediate rep air is neces-
sary.

the brake fluid level is low, or that there is a problem with
the anti-lock brake system (if equ ipped).
Drivin g a veh icle with the brak e ligh t on is danger-
ous. Part of the brak e system may have failed . It will
tak e lon ger to stop the veh icle. You could have an
accid ent. Have the veh icle checked immediately.
The dual brake system provid es a reserve braking capac-
ity in the event of a failu re to a portion of the hyd rau lic
system . Failu re of either half of the dual brake system is
