If the power liftgate encou nters multiple obstru ctions
within the sam e cycle, the system will autom atically
stop and must be opened or closed manu ally.
Gas prop s support the liftgate in the open position.
However, becau se the gas pressu re drop s with tem pera-
ture, it may be necessary to assist the prop s when
opening the liftgate in cold weather.

Safety Warnings

Drivin g with the liftgate open can allow poison -
ous exhaust gases into you r veh icle. You and you r
passen gers could be injured by these fumes. Keep
the liftgate closed when you are operatin g the
veh icle.
WARN ING!
Alw ays close the storage bin covers when you r ve-
hicle is unatten ded. Do not allow child ren to have
access to the secon d row seat storage bins. Once in
the storage bin, you ng child ren may not be able to
escap e. If trap ped in the storage bin, child ren can die
from suffocation or heat strok e.

If you are req uired to drive with the liftgate open,
make sure that all windows are closed , and the
clim ate control blow er switch is set at high speed .
DO NOT use the recircu lation mode.
