WHAT TO DO IN EMERGENCIES

WARN ING!
Do not attem pt to raise the veh icle by jack ing on
location s oth er than those indicated in Step 5.
Raisin g the veh icle high er than necessary can make
the veh icle less stab le. It could slip off the jack and
hurt som eon e near it. Raise the veh icle only enough
to rem ove the tire.

Place the wrench on the jack screw and turn to the
right until the jack head is prop erly engaged in the
described location. Do not raise the veh icle until you are
sure the jack is secu rely engaged .
8. Remove the wheel lug nu ts, for vehicles with wheel
covers, rem ove the cover from the wheel by hand . Do not
pry the wheel cover off. Then pull the wheel off the hu b.

Raise the vehicle by turning the jack screw to the right,
using the swivel wrench. Raise the vehicle only until the
tire just clears the surface and enou gh clearance is
obtained to install the spare tire. Minim um tire lift
provid es maxim um stability.
9. Install the compact spare tire. Lightly tighten the lug
nu ts. To avoid the risk of forcing the vehicle off the jack,
do not tighten the lug nu ts fully until the vehicle has been
lowered .
NOTE: Do not install the wheel cover on the compact
spare.
Do not use a ham mer or force to install the wheel covers.
