Towing Tips — Autom atic Transmission
NOTE:
The DRIVE gear can be selected when tow ing. However,
if frequ ent shifting occurs while in DRIVE, move the gear
selector lever into third gear (with four-sp eed transm is-
sion) or fifth gear (with six-sp eed transm ission).

The six-sp eed autom atic transm ission is sealed and
requ ires an authorized dealer service center to check
the transm ission fluid.
NOTE: Moving the gear selector lever into third gear
(with four-sp eed transm ission) or fifth gear (with six-
speed transm ission) while operating the vehicle und er
heavy operating cond itions will improve perform ance
and extend transm ission life by red ucing excessive shift-
ing and heat build up. This action will also provid e better
engine braking.
Towing Tips — Electron ic Speed Con trol (If
Equipped)
• Don’t use in hilly terrain or with heavy load s.

When using the speed control, if you experience speed
drop s greater than 10 mph (16 km/ h), disengage until
you can get back to cruising speed .
