Because of factors like rou nd ing of nu mbers and fuel movem ent
in the tank, the M/ C and the service station fuel pump read ings
may disagree slightly.
Fuel Economy
A press of the FUEL ECON switch allow s you to display one of
tw o featu res (Average Fuel Econom y or Instantaneou s Fuel
Econom y). The first press of the FUEL ECON switch will allow
you to disp lay you r average fuel econom y in miles/ gallons or
liters/ kilom eters. Your M/ C com putes this figu re using the
distance traveled and fuel used inform ation. If you want to reset
this featu re, press the RESET switch while the average fuel
econom y featu re is displayed . Your average fuel econom y will
then use data only from after the RESET was pressed to
calcu late the new average.
A second consecu tive press of the FUEL ECON switch will
allow you to display the instantaneou s fuel econom y, which is
the fuel econom y that you get at any particu lar mom ent. For
exam ple, you can see what you r fuel econom y is in heavy traffic
or on an open highw ay. Your fuel econom y is affected by such
factors as braking, acceleration, and the typ e of road you are
driving on.
Your vehicle must be moving for the M/ C to calcu late the fuel
econom y. When you r vehicle is not moving, instantaneou s fuel
econom y will be displayed at 0 miles/ gallon or

kilom eters/ 100 liters. When you are moving, the M/ C will
display betw een 0 and 99 miles/ gallon or betw een 1 and
kilom eters/ 100 liters.

Reset
A press of the RESET switch will allow you to reset the current
featu re being displayed . Warnings, Distance Driven, Average
Fuel Econom y, Fuel Used , and you r Personalized Oil Reset
Percentage are the only featu res which resp ond to the RESET
switch. Distance to Empty, Fuel Remaining, and Instantaneou s
