Windshield Washer Fluid and Wipers
Washer Fluid
Check the level of the wind shield washer fluid every tim e you
stop for fuel. The reservoir for washer fluid is located on the
passenger’s sid e of the engine com partm ent. Visu al insp ection
can determ ine if the washer fluid is ad equ ate. Do not operate
the washer when the reservoir is empty.

Adding windshield washer fluid
Use specially form ulated wind shield washer fluid rather than
plain water, becau se specially form ulated washer fluids contain
ad ditives that dissolve road grim e. For safety reasons, washer
fluids containing an ap prop riate antifreeze such as methanol
shou ld be used in freezing weather (tem peratu res below 32˚F
[0˚C]).
State or local regu lations on Volatile Organic Com pou nd s
(VOC’s) may restrict use of the most com mon antifreeze,
methanol. Washer fluids containing non-m ethanol antifreeze
agents shou ld be used only if they provid e cold weather
