Lug nut  tight  ening sequence
RWARN ING
Use  of wheels   or  lug  nuts   oth er than  origin  al equipment
could  cause   damage  to  the  wheel   or  mountin  g system
and  allow   the  wheels  to  come  off  while   the  veh icle  is in
motion .

Replace  any   wheel  covers,   ornam ents,   or  hu b cap s  that  you r
vehicle  has.   Make  sure   that  they   are  screw ed  or  snap ped   into
place.

Pu t the  tire,   jack, and   wrench   aw ay.  (Make  sure   jack is
secu rely  fastened   so  it  does  not  rattle   when   you  drive.)
Unblock   the  wheels.
Retighten   the  wheel   lug  nu ts  to  the  specified   torqu e  at  500 miles
km ) of  new  vehicle   operation   and   at  intervals   specified   in
(800
the  Maintenance  Schedule and Record   booklet.
Also  retighten   to  the   specified   torqu e  at 500  miles  (800  km )  of
operation   after   any  wheel   change   or  any  tim e the   lug  nu ts  are
loosened  .
RWARN ING
Failu re  to retigh  ten  wheel  lug  nuts   at mileages   specified
could  allow   wheels   to come  off  while   the  veh icle  is in
motion .
