When installing a child safety seat, be sure to use the correct
safety belt bu ckle for that seating position, and make sure the
tongu e is secu rely fastened in the bu ckle. For a shou lder/ lap
belt com bination with a slid ing tongu e, make sure the retractor
is in the au tom atic locking mod e.
All child restraint system s are designed to be secu red in vehicle
seats by lap belts or by the lap portion of a lap -shou lder belt.
RWARN ING
If you do not prop erly secu re the safety seat, the child
occupyin g the seat may be injured durin g a collision or
sudden stop . An unsecu red safety seat could also injure
oth er passen gers.
Child ren weighing less than 40 lbs. (18 kg) shou ld use child or
infant seats. Forw ard facing child seats must have the passenger
seat moved as far back from the instru ment panel as possible.
RWARN ING
REAR-FACIN G INFANT SEATS SHOULD NEVER BE
USED IN THE FRONT SEAT. REAR-FACIN G INFANT
SEATS MUST ALWAYS BE PLACED IN THE REAR
SEAT. Failu re to follow these instru ction s could resu lt in

RWARN ING
Carefu lly follow all of the manufactu rer’s instru ction s
included with the safety seat you put in you r veh icle. If
you do not install and use the safety seat prop erly, the
child may be injured in a sudden stop or collision .
