Warning Light s and Gauges
If the light tu rns on and off at one (1) second intervals while
you are driving the vehicle, it means that the engine is
misfiring. If this cond ition persists, dam age could occur to the
engine or catalytic convertor. Have you r vehicle serviced at the
first opportu nity. You do not need to have you r vehicle tow ed
in.
If the light tu rns on and off on rare occasions while you are
driving, it means that a malfu nction occurred and the cond ition
corrected itself.
On the fourth engine start up, the Check Engine Warning Light
will tu rn off as soon as the engine begins to crank. It is not
necessary to have the engine serviced .
Und er certain cond itions, the Check Engine Warning Light may
com e on if the fuel cap is not prop erly installed . If the light
com es on and you suspect the fuel cap is not prop erly installed ,
pull off the road as soon as it is safely possible and tu rn off the
engine. Remove and rep lace the fuel cap , making sure it is
prop erly seated .
After com pleting the three consecu tive warm -up cycles and on
the fou rth engine start-u p, the Check Engine Warning Light
shou ld tu rn off. If the light does not go off after the fou rth
engine restart, have you r vehicle serviced by you r dealer or a
qu alified technician.
