Programming your own entry code
You can program a personal cod e to unlock you r vehicle with
the keyp ad . This cod e does not rep lace the perm anent cod e that
the dealership gave you . Use you r personal cod e in the sam e
manner as you would you r original cod e.
To program you r ow n cod e:

Select five digits for you r personal cod e.
Enter the perm anent cod e that the dealership gave you .
Within five second s, press 1/ 2.
Within five second s of pressing 1/ 2, enter you r personal
cod e, pressing each digit within five second s of the previou s
digit.
The keyless entry system registers this second cod e. To open
you r vehicle, you can now use either cod e. The mod ule
rem embers only one personal cod e at a tim e. Entering a
second personal cod e will erase the first, rep lacing it with
the new second one.
To erase you r personal cod e:

Enter the original perm anent cod e.
Press 1/ 2 within five second s of Step 1.
Wait six second s.
The keyless entry system au tom atically erases you r personal
cod e. The system will now only resp ond to the perm anent
cod e.
Do not set a cod e that presents the nu mbers in sequ ential ord er,
such as 1/ 2, 3/ 4, 5/ 6, 7/ 8, 9/ 0. Studies show that peop le who
idly press the bu ttons usually press a sequ ential pattern. Also,
do not select a cod e that uses the sam e bu tton five tim es.
Thieves can easily figu re out these typ es of cod es.
