for service as soon as possible. For Fuel Level, the first message
will ind icate the fuel level statu s (OK or LOW) and the second
message will ind icate the range (distance to empty).
Message center operation during system check
The M/ C switches will operate as follow s during the System
Check sequ ence:
1.
A press of the SYSTEM CH ECK switch will ad vance the
cycle to the next system message withou t waiting the tw o
second s.
2.
A press of the RESET switch anytim e during this sequ ence
will cau se the SYSTEM CH ECK cycle to conclu de
immediately and the last displayed featu re before pressing
SYSTEM CH ECK will be displayed .
3.
4.
A press of the RAN GE, FUEL STATUS, OR FUEL
ECON OMY, switch will conclu de the SYSTEM CH ECK cycle
and the requ ested featu re will be displayed .
A press of the ENGLISH/ METRIC switch will halt the
SYSTEM CH ECK cycle and display, in the new mod e, the
last disp layed featu re before pressing the SYSTEM CH ECK
switch.

A press of the OIL CH AN GE RESET switch during the
sequ ence will cau se the SYSTEM CH ECK cycle to conclu de
and the Oil Change Reset Proced ure will begin.
System Warnings
System warnings alert you to possible problem s or malfu nctions
in you r vehicle’s operating system s. There are tw elve warning
messages which can be displayed by the Message Center (M/ C)
to show the statu s of the monitored system s. When a warning
occurs, the warning message is displayed and a tone sou nd s.
The warning message will ap pear at a brighter level if the
instru ment panel is dimmed.
