Hydraulic Power Brakes
The hyd rau lic brake system is mad e up of tw o ind epend ent

front disc brakes and the other hyd rau lic circu it supplies fluid
to the rear dru m or disc brakes. These tw o circu its are supplied
by a com mon hyd rau lic brake fluid reservoir, with a fluid level
sensor.
The brake light in the instru ment cluster will light for low brake

RWARN ING
An increase in pedal travel will resu lt in red uced brak ing

immediately.
Four Wheel Anti-lock Brake System
Your vehicle is equ ipped with a Four Wheel Anti-lock Braking
System (4WABS). The 4WABS help s the driver to maintain
vehicle control by preventing wheel locku p during hard
braking.
The 4WABS operates with a com puter that is able to optim ize
vehicle control during braking on varying tire and road
cond itions by mod ulating the brake pressu re at each of the front
wheels and the rear axle. This “p umping action” is sim ilar to
the driver “p umping” the brakes bu t hap pens at a much faster
rate.
