Safet y Res traints
Your vehicle is equ ipped with a right front passenger air bag.
Air bags deploy with great force, faster than the blink of an eye.
Front passengers, esp ecially child ren and small ad ults, must
never sit on the front edge of the seat, stand near the glove
com partm ent of the instru ment panel, or lean over near the air
bag cover when the vehicle is moving. All occupants shou ld sit
with their backs against the seatback, move the seat to the most
rearw ard position if possible and use the safety belts. Child ren
weighing less than 40 lbs. (18 kg) alw ays shou ld use child or
infant seats.
RWARN ING
When usin g forw ard -facin g child seats move the
passen ger seat as far back from the instru ment panel as
possib le. NEVER SECURE REAR-FACIN G INFANT
SEATS IN THE FRONT SEAT.
The force of the rap idly inflating passenger air bag could push
the top of the rear-facing seat against the vehicle seatback,
arm rests or console. Rear-facing infant seats must alw ays be
secu red in the rear seat.
RWARN ING
Do not place objects or mount equipment on or near the
air bag cover on the steerin g wheel or in fron t seat areas
that may come in contact with a deployin g air bag.
Failu re to follow this instru ction may increase the risk of
person al injury in the even t of a collision .
For ad ditional important safety inform ation on the prop er use of
seat belts, child seats, and infant seats, please read the other
sections of this chap ter of the Ow ner Guide, esp ecially sections
