Tire rot ation pattern
After each rotation, ad just ind ivid ual tire pressu re as specified
on the Safety Com pliance Certification Label. Tighten wheel lug
nu ts to the requ ired torqu e specification and retighten again
after 500 miles (800 km ).
If you r vehicle has alu minu m wheels, you may demount the full
size, non-tem porary spare tire (if so equ ipped) and rem ount on
an alu minu m wheel to rotate the spare tire into you r vehicle’s
rotation pattern. Rebalance the wheel.
In ad dition to rotating the tires, the spare tire retention system
shou ld be cycled . Using the jack hand le, low er the spare tire to
the grou nd and then proceed to raise the tire until the
mechanism “slip s.” Refer to Spare Tire Location section of the
Roadside Emergencies chap ter for the operation of the spare tire
retention system .
