Inspection after a collision
RWARN ING
All built-in child restrain ts, including seats, buckles,
retractors, seat latch es, interlock s, and attach ing hard ware
should be inspected by a qualified dealer tech nician after
any collision . If the child seat was in use durin g a
collision , Ford recom mends rep lacin g it. However, if the
collision was minor and a qualified tech nician fin ds that
the child restrain ts do not show damage and contin ue to
operate prop erly, they do not need to be rep laced .
Built-In Child Seats not in use durin g a collision should
also be inspected and rep laced if eith er damage or
improp er operation is noted .
Cleaning
Your bu ilt-in child seat may be cleaned with mild soap and
water. Do not use hou sehold cleaners as they may weaken the
webbing or dam age the plastic parts. For you r convenience, the
liner is mad e to be machine washable and air dried (do not use
heat).
Built-in child seat maintenance
Regu larly insp ect the lap and shou lder belts system of you r
child seat. See you r Ford Dealer if the shou lder belt webbing is
frayed , or if the bu ckle and tongu e are dam aged and / or do not
function prop erly.
Safety Seats for Children
Use a safety seat that is recom mend ed for the size and weight
of the child . Alw ays follow the safety seat manu factu rer’s
instru ctions when installing and using the safety seat.
Ford recom mend s the use of a child safety seat having a top
tether strap . Install the child safety seat in a seating position
which is cap able of provid ing a tether anchorage. For more
