The Importance  of Wearing Safety  Belts
RWARN ING
Safety  belts   must  be  worn   by all  veh icle  occupants   to  be
prop erly  restrain  ed  and  help  red uce  the  risk  of  injury   in
a collision  .
RWARN ING
All  occupants   of  the  veh icle, including    the  driver,   should
alw ays  wear  their  safety   belts,  even  when   an  air  bag
Supplem  ental  Restrain  t  System  is  provid ed.
There  are  fou r  very  important    reasons   to  use  safety   belts  even
with  an   air  bag  system .  Use  you r safety   belts  to:
help  keep   you  in  the  prop  er  position   (aw ay from   the  air  bag)
when   it  inflates
red uce  the  risk  of  harm   in  rollover,   sid e or  rear   impact
collisions,   becau se an   air  bag  is  not  designed   to  inflate   in
such  situ ations
red uce  the  risk  of  harm   in  frontal   collisions  that   are  not
severe   enou gh  to  activate   the  supplem  ental  air  bag
red uce  the  risk  of  being   throw n  from  you r  vehicle
RWARN ING
The  righ t fron t  passen ger  air  bag  is  not  design  ed  to
restrain   occupants   in  the  center   fron t seatin g  position  .
