oth er dry grou nd cover. The emission system heats up
the engin e compartm ent and exhaust system , which can
start a fire.

On veh icles with out origin al equipment floor coverin g or
insulation , do not let passen gers rid e in you r tru ck in a
manner that allow s contact betw een skin and the metal
floor.
Watch for fluid leaks, strange od ors, smoke, loss of oil pressu re,
the charge warning light, the check engine light, or the
tem peratu re warning light. These som etim es ind icate that the
emission system is not working prop erly.
Do not make any unau thorized changes to you r vehicle or
engine. Changes that cau se more unbu rned fuel to reach the
exhau st system can increase the tem peratu re of the engine or
exhau st system .
By law , anyone who manu factu res, rep airs, services, sells, leases,
trad es vehicles, or supervises a fleet of vehicles is not perm itted
to intentionally rem ove an emission control device or prevent it
from working. In som e of the United States and in Canad a,
vehicle ow ners may be liable if their emission control device is
rem oved or is prevented from working.
