Shou ld a malfu nction in the 4WABS system occur, the ABS light
on the instru ment cluster will com e on and stay on ind icating
that the anti-lock system has been shu t dow n and the vehicle
need s to be serviced . Norm al braking is not affected unless the
brake warning light is also illuminated .
NOTE: It is importan t to note that when the ABS Warn ing
Ligh t is illu minated the ABS system is disab led . The
veh icle must be serviced immediately to restore the
benefits of the Anti-lock system .
NOTE: Mobile phones or rad io tran smitters not installed by
Ford Motor Com pany may interfere with the Anti-lock
System . Should the Anti-lock system activate
unexpected ly or the Anti-lock Warn ing Ligh t
illu minate after installation of such a unit, have the
installation of the unit checked.
If Brakes Do Not Grip Well or Pedal is “Low”
If during norm al operation the brake pedal seem s “low ”, it may
ind icate the need for a brake system insp ection and / or service.
You shou ld have you r brakes checked as soon as possible.
Occasional brake squ eal during light to mod erate stop s does not
affect the function of the brake system and is norm al. How ever,
if the squ eal becom es lou der or more frequ ent, have you r
brakes insp ected by you r dealer or a qu alified service technician.
RWARN ING
Modification s to the suspension sprin g rates and/or
veh icle rid e heigh t may adversely affect veh icle stop ping
ability.
